PSV winner of the 10th Greenport International U14 Tournament 2025

Sixteen clubs from nine countries participated this weekend. After a welcome speech by youth chairman Robin van Westenbrugge, a short interview followed with the captain of American side Atlanta United FC, who won the tournament in 2024, and the captain of FC ’s-Gravenzande. Afterwards, alderman Anko Goudswaard of the Municipality of Westland addressed the large crowd and wished everyone the best of luck. Mascot Scotty then handed the ball to the alderman, who placed it on the center spot to officially kick off the tournament.

Each team played two matches on Friday evening, with some surprising results. FC ’s-Gravenzande held strong against Atlanta United FC, managing a 0-0 draw. Unfortunately, Budapest Honved FC’s first match was overshadowed when a player slipped and suffered a serious injury.

Due to Friday night’s heavy rain, the schedule had to be slightly adjusted, but all matches were eventually played. On Saturday, each team played four matches. During the tournament break, a match took place between the Feyenoord Legends and the Legends of FC ’s-Gravenzande. Feyenoord was represented by well-known players such as Ali Boussaboun, Gill Swerts, and Karim El Ahmadi. In front of a large audience, an exciting match unfolded, narrowly won 1-2 by the Rotterdam side.

By the end of the day, it was already becoming clear which teams were in the running for the top places.

On Sunday morning, each team played one more group stage match, followed by the semifinals and placement matches. Atlanta United FC and FC Utrecht battled for third place, which was narrowly won 0-1 by Utrecht. The final was contested between PSV Eindhoven and Royal Antwerp FC. It remained tense for a long time, but near the end of the second half PSV scored the only goal of the match and claimed their second tournament victory, having also won in 2022.
